Hobsons Bay City Council invites businesses in the tourism and hospitality industry to come together as we shine a light on Hobsons Bay's visitor economy.

Western Melbourne Tourism will be offering an update on collaborations in the west, Visit Victoria will be sharing how you can extend your reach using the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse, and Tourism Tribe will be facilitating a workshop on building a customer centric visitor economy.

Round 4 of the Victorian Circular Economy Recycling Modernisation Fund is now open.  Grants between $50,000 and $1 million are available for projects that will improve recycling in Victoria by:
  • upgrading infrastructure
  • upgrading technology
  • increasing processing capacity
  • increasing the amount of recycled materials being made into new products.


The Australian Furniture Association has launched a 12-week manufacturing skills training program called "Take a Seat with Us".  The program targets workers/students who may want to obtain a Certificate III in Upholstery, Automotive and Marine Trimming Technology or Manufactured Textile Products.  

The first intake started on 5 June 2023 with 5 further intakes upcoming.  Contact apply@micg.com.au to express interest in participating in the program or connecting with students who have completed the program.


The Advance Program provides the opportunity for Australian businesses to access financial support and Tourism Australia’s expertise to deliver industry-led marketing or distribution projects, which either increase consideration of Australia for new international business events, or increase international delegate attendance at events already secured for Australia. Applications close 31 July.
