Deadline to register for SMS Sender ID
If you run a service-based business, you might rely on SMS appointment reminders to help your schedule run smoothly. 

The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) is introducing sender ID registration for SMS messages to help protect consumers against SMS scams – and if you have a sender ID, this could have an impact on your business. 
Here are three things you need to know about what these changes mean and the actions you need to take to prepare.

1. You'll need to register your SMS Sender ID.
2. If you miss the chance to register, your messages could be blocked. Registrations open on 30 November 2025, and you will need to be registered before 1 July 2026.
3. Your SMS Sender ID needs to meet registration requirements.
4. Future AI trends and strategies for integrating AI into your long-term business growth.

Join the Armadale Chamber of Commerce Board Events Committee Role Now Open 

With the recent election of Kris Jorgensen as Councillor for River Ward, a position has become available on the Armadale Chamber of Commerce Board. Kris has been a dedicated member of the Chamber, and we wish him all the best in his new role representing the local community. 

The Chamber is now inviting expressions of interest from passionate and community-minded individuals to join the Board as part of the Events Committee. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver events that connect, inspire, and strengthen the local business community.

Connecting with Local Business: City of Armadale's Economic Development Outreach

The City of Armadale’s Economic Development Officers have been out in the community, visiting local businesses as part of their outreach program. City Officers visit local businesses to share information, listen to their challenges, and discuss opportunities for support. 

Through these visits, local businesses are provided information about the support the City offers local businesses, such as free advertising on the City’s Local Business Directory, and the Armadale Grow Your Business workshops. These workshops cover key topics such as business and financial planning, marketing, online promotion, and the use of AI tools to enhance operations. 

The City has partnered with the Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC) to deliver these workshops, designed specifically for businesses located in the City of Armadale. The Grow Your Business program provides practical tools to help local businesses adapt, thrive, and focus their energy where they’ll achieve the best results. These workshops are free and subsidised by the State Government through the SBDC and the City of Armadale. 

The outreach sessions not only raise awareness of available resources but also strengthen relationships between local business owners and the City. These face-to-face visits foster stronger connections, build trust, and ensure local businesses know they’re supported, helping the Armadale economy grow from the ground up.
